Fusion Latina – Latin Sounds from Javier Landaeta on Vimeo.
Fusion Latina is a unique ensemble formed by Latin-Americans living in Vancouver who want to share their rich Latin heritage with Canada and the world; to champion the Latin spirit in Canada’s multicultural artscape; and to achieve a high level of musicianship and artistry.
Latin American rhythms are very diverse: from the lively, fast-paced salsa, rumba and rancheras to the soft and mellow tango and bolero. The richness of this music is enhanced by blending string instruments from colonial Spain, pan flutes used by native Indians and percussion instruments adopted from Africa.
Javier Landaeta is a photographer and videographer in Metro Vancouver, Canada. I filmed this concert for Fusion on 2010-11-14 at St. Mary’s Kerrisdale Church.
